James Gillispie

James is an Associate Director of Technical Strategy at Athletics. At Athletics, he has worked on a range of projects from UC Davis all the way to the Museum of the City of New York. Born in Houston, Texas, he has lived all over the country from Baltimore, to Brooklyn, to Connecticut, where he currently resides with his wife Sarah and their dog Franklin. Previous to Athletics, James worked for such entities as NYU Tandon, UMG Def Jam, Parsons, Creative Time, and Bellweather Agency. He received his MFA in painting from Yale, and BFA from MICA. Curious, energetic, and creative, alongside his painting practice he enjoys bird photography, kayaking, and fishing, all activities that involve close observation of the world.
