Position Overview

The Senior Desk Developer will sit with and collaborate closely with business partners to create new tools and applications that enable, streamline and support our core activities. This individual will analyze current activities and processes to identify inefficiencies that can be addressed through technology solutions. The Senior Desk Developer will work to rapidly implement innovative solutions to support the business as a key enabler of business efficiency. This individual will also be a member of the core technology team and partner with other technologists to design and implement a sustainable long-term digital strategy that facilitates outstanding results and rapid scale.

Primary Responsibilities  

  • Sit directly with trading desk and other teams (risk management, finance) to rapidly develop business-enabling tools
  • “Own” what you build throughout its lifecycle; shift strategic functionality into core systems
  • Partner with the technology colleagues to define and drive digital transformation
  • Independently analyze and discover critical business requirements. Turn user feedback into actionable design improvements (e.g., reports, dashboards, etc.)
  • Use innovative and modern technology to accelerate software-driven automation; where appropriate, identify ways of improving process to support business effectiveness
  • Increase business adherence to best practices for key processes, including data control and reproducibility
  • Dual reporting line to technology and business teams

Qualification and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in a similar role
  • 7+ years of Python experience
  • 7+ years of SQL experience
  • Experience with data warehouses, cloud development a plus
  • Experience with fixed income analytics, mortgage analytics, or financial risk a plus
  • Experience with loan finance and credit markets a plus
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of risk and finance data
  • Excel power user
  • Understanding of statistics and machine learning
  • Outstanding written and oral skills
  • Results-focused and commercial
  • Energetic, resilient, and resourceful
  • Relevant university degree

Base Salary Range

$175,000 - $250,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed here.
