Shane Trent

Shane Trent has held various roles in the engineering field since 1999. In 1999, they worked as a Sales Engineer and Design Engineer at MicroCraft Corp, where they were responsible for converting test requirements into delivered automated test systems, as well as electrical design, system diagnostics, signal condition, printed circuit board design and machine vision programming. From 2002 to 2017, they were the Owner of Advanced Portable Imaging, where they developed and supervised the electrical, automation and communication systems needed to capture medical images in the field and transmit them to a Radiologist for diagnostic interpretation. From 2017 to 2020, they worked as a Patent Agent and Electronics Design Engineer, helping innovators develop early stage product prototypes, identify potential intellectual property and build a strategy to protect and leverage the value of their designs. In 2020, they were Interim Director of Engineering at HiViz LED Lighting / FireTech Lights. Currently, Shane Trent is a Production Test Engineer at Atom Power, Inc.

Shane Trent obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Materials Engineering from North Carolina State University between 1993 and 1995. Shane also obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University between 1986 and 1992. Prior to that, they attended Sullivan South Highschool between 1984 and 1986 and Volunteer High between 1982 and 1984. In 2017, they obtained a Registered Patent Agent certification from the USPTO.
