Data Scientist at Audette

Claudia Nikel is a data scientist who currently works at Audette. Claudia has previous experience working as an analyst at Rocky Mountaineer and as a data scientist at the Urban Data Lab. At the Urban Data Lab, Claudia deployed a Python program to classify live-streaming equipment end-uses using hierarchical clustering with 95% accuracy. Claudia also deployed a Python program to manipulate and predict on 66 million rows of NoSQL data. In addition, Claudia consulted with technical and non-technical stakeholders, addressed data type issues to the senior leadership team, translated statistical techniques and model results to the senior leadership team, and collaborated with the data science team.

Claudia Nikel started their educational career by getting a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Civil Engineering from the University of Victoria. After working in the engineering field for a few years, they decided to go back to school to get a Master's degree in Data Science from The University of British Columbia. While working on their Master's degree, Claudia took several online courses and received certifications in customer analytics, A/B testing, experimental design, SQL, and Python. Claudia also received certification from Kaggle in intro to SQL and Pandas. After completing their Master's degree, Claudia took a course in Power BI and another course in SQL.

Claudia Nikel works with Eric Power - Software Engineer, Daniel Mossie - Senior Software Engineer, and Gabriel Queiroz - Machine Learning Engineer. Their manager is James Maxwell, Head of Software.
