Sujoy Bera, PhD

Sujoy Bera, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of neuroscience. In 2021, they began working as a Senior Research Scientist at AudioCure Pharma GmbH, where they were responsible for management of pre-clinical research projects, developing cell biological assays, uncovering cell signalling pathways, data analysis, and reporting to cross-functional teams. In 2020, they worked as a Research Fellow and Team Leader at the Center for Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine, University of Technology Sydney, where they were responsible for project conceptualization, experimental design, data analysis, and co-supervising and managing 3 PhD students and 1 honours student. From 2016 to 2020, they worked as a Research Associate at CECAD Research Center, University of Cologne, Germany, where they were responsible for project conceptualization, development, investigation, data analysis, and resource and time management. From 2014 to 2016, they worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist at Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology, where they were responsible for development of novel cell biological tools, fluorescence microscopy, PCR, cloning, mutagenesis, confocal microscopy, STED microscopy, FRET, FRAP, live cell imaging, protein purification, pull-down assays, transfection in neurons, gene gun mediated gene transfer, transduction in cultured neurons, immunocytochemistry, and immunohistochemistry.

Sujoy Bera, PhD has a comprehensive educational background. Sujoy obtained their Higher Secondary (10+2) degree from GBL Vidyapith, PS, Midnapore, West Bengal in 1999-2001, followed by a B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) in Biotechnology from West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata in 2001-2005. Sujoy then went on to earn a Master of Science - MS by research in Bioprocess Engineering/Biotechnology from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 2006-2008. Finally, they completed their PhD in Neuroscience (Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology) from Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg in 2008-2014. In 2021, they obtained an MBA essential from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Additionally, they have obtained certifications in ICH-GCP (Investigator and Site Personnel Good Clinical Practice) from Genesis Research Services Pty Ltd, Basics of Project Management from International Business Management Institute (IBMI), Introduction to Clinical Neurology from UCSF Medical Center, and FELASA-B, GV-SOLAS from University of Cologne.
