Job Description: Director of Sales

As the Director of Sales at Augurian, your primary responsibility is to drive revenue growth by assisting the President and CEO in developing and then executing on the agency’s sales strategy. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, you will be responsible for developing the outreach methods, setting up and leading sales meetings, bringing in subject matter experts from our service teams to assist in the sales process (ie: free diagnostics, answering specific questions related to their areas of expertise) drafting and sending proposals, closing deals, following the sales handoff and client kickoff meeting processes and meeting overarching business objectives. The role is critical in finding clients that fit the agency’s Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs) and who also align with our values and contribute to our long-term goals.

Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with company goals to expand the business and increase revenue.
  • Take the agency from 30 to 60 ICPs who share our values, trust our ROI, and fit our target market, contributing to our revenue goal of $6.1M by December of 2026.
  • Collaborate with leadership to set and achieve sales targets, with a focus on maintaining  the average VPC above $8,500 per month.
  1. Client Acquisition & Relationship Building
  • Identify and engage potential clients, focusing on companies with $20M-$100M in revenue, 50-200 employees, and marketing teams of 1-3.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for prospective clients, ensuring that your approach supports and aligns with Augurian’s core values and 3 uniques:

  1. Revenue Growth & Business Development
  • Drive new business opportunities that meet Augurian’s criteria for Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs) and expand the client base from 30 to 60 clients by 2026.
  • Leverage our Wins, Case Studies, and storytelling to demonstrate ROI and position Augurian as the partner of choice for potential clients.
  1. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment
  • Work closely with the President, VP of Finance, and VP of Services to ensure sales targets are aligned with organizational goals.
  • Work closely with the Directors and Managers, as they are the subject matter experts who support the sales process by conducting free diagnostics and answer questions on sales calls to demonstrate our expertise and sophistication.
  1. Strategic Partnerships & Referrals
  • Identify and cultivate prospective partners and individual referral sources.
  • Build trust and grow relationships with external thought leaders and prospective partners who can serve as advocates for Augurian in the Twin Cities marketing community and beyond.
  1. Thought Leadership & Networking
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote Augurian’s brand and gain insights into emerging trends.
  • Position Augurian as the digital marketing agency of choice for ‘Small but Mighty Marketing Teams’ by engaging in thought leadership activities, including: 
    • activity on social media (primarily LinkedIn) talking about Augurian, our team, culture, services, and the results we achieve for our clients.
    • participation at workshops, conferences, and events where our ICPs and/or strategic partners and advocates are present, ensuring Augurian stays top of mind.
  1. Performance & Accountability
  • Track key performance metrics and provide regular reports on sales progress.
  • Ensure all sales efforts contribute to the measurable growth goal of reaching $6.1M in revenue by 2026, supporting the company’s vision for the future.
