As the VP of Data & Analytics, you will be accountable for the direction of the agency’s data operations, analytics, and reporting offerings, managing a team of data and analytics experts, and the execution of strategic and insightful client deliverables. Analyzing comprehensive data sets including paid media, website activity, CRM activity, social media, and audience insights to deliver impactful and insightful measurement frameworks and reporting across the vast agency client roster. This position will work collaboratively to provide the data inputs and insights to support new business, media and engagement, planning, strategy & optimization, and performance measurement, as well as the development of advanced analytics and machine learning models.  

What you'll do

  • Act as a strategic partner to key stakeholders, advising on the use of analytics and data science to drive business decisions.
  • Lead engagements with clients that require advanced analytics support, ensuring that projects meet objectives and deliver ROI.
  • Provide hands-on experience with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and other popular web and campaign analytics platforms.
  • Provide hands-on experience with data analysis and visualization platforms to shepherd projects or support team as needed.
  • Conduct A/B and multivariate tests to optimize website performance, conversion rate, engagement, and other key metrics.
  • Develop and deploy machine learning models and AI-driven solutions to address specific challenges faced by our clients.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in machine learning and AI.
  • Regularly monitor KPIs and deliver performance reports with actionable insights across the company.
  • Adopt and enforce standard naming conventions, taxonomy and data processes creating consistency across projects and accounts.
  • Oversee measurement framework development and operational execution, including asset tagging and metadata, to ensure tracking and measurement is accurate and granular.
  • Apply best practices to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
  • Transform complex datasets into comprehensible visual representations, including advanced dashboard creation.
  • Provide data-driven insights to clients and internal teams in a clear and concise manner.
  • Mentor and develop the data and analytics team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Evaluate and recommend analytics tools and platforms and manage relationships with analytics vendors.

About You

  • Master's degree or similar in Data Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, or a related field preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in the measurement of digital marketing activities with strong data, analytic and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate complex data strategies and outputs in a clear and concise manner.

  • Proven experience in data governance and analytics, with a deep understanding of platforms like Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, BigQuery, Looker Studio, and other analytics tools and data visualization platforms.

  • Client-facing experience, with the ability to articulate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to deeply understand the client’s business and bring strategic business thinking to drive the most effective media, audience, and data strategy in partnership with the media, strategy, and client services teams.

  • Experience with marketing mixed modeling/econometric analysis and multi-touch attribution across channels to understand channel impact and ROI.

  • Ability to manage and direct Data Science and Data Engineering staff and understand the work at a detailed level to validate the methodology and accuracy.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.

  • Advanced understanding across client verticals of media strategy, goal setting, and channel selection.

  • Experience structuring analyses to get the most accurate read; knowledge of statistical significance and ability to ensure and communicate relative confidence and risk levels.

  • Robust understanding of tagging and taxonomy practices to track and measure marketing activity effectively and efficiently.

  • Team player with excellent collaboration skills.

  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in leading cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with programming languages.
