Charles Zimliki

Charles Zimliki has extensive experience in regulatory affairs and clinical affairs in the medical industry. Charles currently holds the position of SVP Regulatory and Clinical Affairs at Avanos Medical. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Regulatory Officer at embecta and as the VP of Regulatory Affairs at BD. Charles also held the role of VP Regulatory, Quality, and Clinical Affairs at Optiscan Biomedical. Before transitioning into industry roles, Zimliki worked at the FDA, where they served as a reviewer, Acting Branch Chief, 510(k) Team Leader, and Diabetes Team Leader. Charles also chaired multi-disciplinary groups and represented the agency in Congressional hearings and senate briefings on artificial pancreas systems.

Charles Zimliki earned a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University in 2001. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Science & Mechanics from Virginia Tech in 1993.
