Albert Pérez Subirós

Albert Pérez Subirós has a diverse work experience in the aviation industry. Albert started their career at Vueling Airlines in 2005, where they held various engineering and management roles, including Project Engineer, Engineering Manager, Head of Engineering and Planning, and finally Vice President of Engineering and Maintenance. Albert then founded JetSMART Airlines in 2017, serving as the COO and Founder. In this role, they were responsible for designing the operational setup and achieving the lowest operational cost in the region. Additionally, they oversaw maintenance and engineering, ground operations, flight operations, compliance, safety, security, and operations control center. Most recently, they joined Avianca in 2021 as the SVP of Engineering and Maintenance.

Albert Pérez Subirós has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Esade, obtained in 2012. In 2011, they attended a seminar on Competitive Strategy at HEC Paris. Prior to their MBA, they completed a Master's Degree in Engineering focused on Space and Aerostructures at ISAE-SUPAERO from 2002 to 2004. Albert also holds a Master's Degree in Engineering, specializing in Thermodynamics and Mechanics, from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, which they completed from 1996 to 2002.
