Kathryn Walter

Kathryn Walter, CAP, serves as a Senior Operations Research Analyst at Avista since August 2021, focusing on the Avista Decision Support System (ADSS) to enhance commodity trading and resource evaluation. Prior to this, Kathryn worked as an Analytics & Optimization Consultant at ORTEC USA from July 2018 to July 2021, where projects centered on supply chain optimization in the energy sector. Kathryn's career in the U.S. Coast Guard included roles as an Operations Research Analyst and Command Duty Officer, managing workforce forecasts and leading critical operations that saved over 125 lives. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Operations Research from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research and Computer Analysis from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
