Gail Wien has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Gail has held various HR leadership positions with different organizations.

Gail started their career at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City, where they worked for 11 years and held multiple roles as a Senior Human Resources Generalist. During this time, they gained experience in performance management, compensation, recruitment, and employee relations.

After that, Gail joined Intertec Publishing (Primedia) as the Director of Human Resources. In this role, they managed all aspects of HR for four divisions, overseeing 500 employees. Gail also played a key role in strategic planning, including succession planning and equity initiatives.

Gail then transitioned to The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, where they served as the Director of Human Resources. Gail led the HR division, contributed to strategic initiatives, and supervised a team of three.

Currently, Gail is working at AXIS (AXIS Capital) as the Head of People Engagement. Gail leads a team responsible for driving people engagement, change management, corporate philanthropy, the future of work, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Gail also chairs the organization's Global Diversity and Inclusion Council and leads the D&I Advocates group.

Prior to their current role, Gail held the position of Lead HR Business Partner, Strategic Projects at AXIS, where they developed and implemented programs to support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategies and initiatives. Gail chaired the organization's global Diversity and Inclusion Council and led efforts to integrate D&I into business planning and practices.

Before joining AXIS, Gail worked as the VP, SR HR Business Partner for the same organization. Gail partnered with executive management and provided guidance on employment-related issues. Gail also played a significant role in designing and implementing progressive HR practices.

Gail Wien holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Human Resources from The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business. Gail also completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Rockhurst University. Gail has obtained additional certifications in Unconscious Bias, Holding Yourself Accountable, and Data Visualization: Storytelling from LinkedIn.
