Syed Abbas Shah has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Syed Abbas is currently working at AXIS (AXIS Capital) as a Software Quality Assurance Team Lead since October 2021. Prior to this role, they served as a Senior Quality Assurance Tester at the same company from June 2020 to October 2021.

Before joining AXIS, Syed worked at Swept Janitorial Software as a Quality Assurance Analyst from June 2018 to May 2020. Here, they conducted integration and regression testing on web and mobile apps and created test cases using Gherkin language.

At NTT Data, they were involved in various QA activities such as developing test plans, test cases, and test scenarios, performing manual and automated testing, coordinating defect management, and participating in Root Cause Analysis. Syed Abbas also created a 'QA Estimation tool' to streamline estimation processes.

Syed started their professional journey as a student at Dalhousie University from September 2006 to October 2009.

Syed Abbas Shah obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Peshawar, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. Syed Abbas then pursued a Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.) degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Dalhousie University from 2006 to 2009. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as "A Toolkit for Giving and Receiving Better Feedback" from LinkedIn in 2021, "Certified Tester, Foundation Level Agile Extension (CTFL-AT)" from the Canadian Software Testing Board (CSTB) in 2017, and "Certified Tester, Foundation Level (CTFL)" from the ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board in 2011.
