Sébastien Lacube, PhD, is an experienced professional with expertise in climate change and environmental science. Sébastien is currently serving as the Chief Science Officer at Azzera, a company dedicated to delivering climate solutions. In this role, they are responsible for developing Azzera's strategy and researching new technologies and suppliers for climate mitigation solutions.

Prior to joining Azzera, Sébastien worked at Time for the Planet as an Associate, where they were actively involved in the fight against climate change.

Sébastien also co-founded Phymea systems and served as the company's Chief Operating Officer and Senior Scientist. In this capacity, they managed day-to-day activities, led team management, and established partnerships with research institutes. Sébastien was also involved in climate change risk assessment and developed models for plant growth simulation, yield impact estimation, and climate change risk assessments on agricultural systems.

Earlier in their career, Sébastien worked as a PhD student and Research Engineer at INRA - LEPSE, focusing on integrating genetic variability into crop models, specifically maize. Sébastien also gained experience as a student at Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech, where they participated in projects evaluating the impacts of climate change on the agricultural sector.

Sébastien's professional journey also includes an internship at ECORES, where they gained practical experience in their field.

Sébastien Lacube, PhD, obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Plant Ecophysiology from L'Institut Agro Montpellier, where they studied from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, they pursued a Master's degree in Bio Ingeneering (Environmental Science and technologies) from Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech - Université de Liège, graduating between 2007 and 2013. Sébastien's educational journey began at the European School of Brussels II, where they completed their European Baccalaureate in Science, from 1998 to 2007.
