Marc Winzenried began their work experience in 2001 as an Industrial Performance Specialist at Nestlé Suisse S.A. Marc later took on various roles in the company, including Factory Industrial Performance Manager and Market Industrial Performance Manager, where they were responsible for improving competitiveness and leading performance improvement projects. In 2008, they became the Production Manager at the Pontarlier Factory before moving to the Basel Factory in 2009. In 2013, they joined a mission to the Nestlé Confectionary Product Technolgy Center and also served as a Project Leader for investment projects and production planning improvements. From 2015 to 2021, they held the position of Head of Industrial Performance & Manufacturing Excellence Manager at Nestlé, overseeing the deployment and evolution of improvement initiatives and managing a network of industrial engineers. In 2021, Marc Winzenried became the Head of the Crissier pharmaceutical plant at B. Braun Gruppe, where they have overall responsibility for developing and producing pharmaceutical and medical device products.

Marc Winzenried earned their Master's degree in Lebensmittelwissenschaft und -technologie from ETH Zürich between 1994 and 2000. Marc also completed a Postgraduate Course in Change Management at the University of Applied Science Basel (FHBB) in 2004. In 2016, they obtained a certificate as a Lean Six Sigma - Certified Black Belt from Acuity Institute. Prior to their higher education, they completed their Matura at MNG Basel in 1993.
