Gretel Schaj

Gretel Schaj is a seasoned professional in smart city development and governance, currently serving as the Coordinadora Principal de la Red at CIVINET Iberia since January 2023. At BABLE Smart Cities, starting from December 2017, Gretel holds the position of Iberia Lead and Senior Consultant, overseeing teams engaged with the Iberian Public Sector and managing diverse projects related to urban development, positive energy districts, smart mobility, and urban data. Prior to these roles, Gretel contributed as a Data & Governance Specialist, advising governments on smart city strategies, and served as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Environmental Governance from The University of Freiburg and a Licentiate degree in International Relations and Affairs from Universidad Católica de Córdoba.
