CX Program Lead at Backbone

John Dieter has extensive work experience in various customer support and management roles. John began their career at John Deere as an International Supply Management Planner from 2011 to 2012. John then worked at DHL as a Brokerage Representative from 2013 to 2015, and was later promoted to Ocean Freight Customer Service Manager. During their time at DHL, they collaborated with multiple teams to revamp business processes, improve customer retention, and optimize budget.

From 2016 to 2018, John worked at Uber as a Community Operations Manager, where they managed supervisors and customer support representatives, implemented KPI incentive programs, and expanded the support team to match company growth. John also introduced a third shift, making support a 24/7 operation.

After Uber, John joined Intercom as an Associate Manager of Customer Support from 2018 to 2019, before transitioning to Zego as a National Customer Experience & Training Manager and later as an Account Manager. At Zego, they focused on customer experience, training, and account management.

In 2021, John joined Givebutter as the Director of Support, where they established structure, created new teams, mitigated fraud and payment issues, and improved response times. John implemented DEI initiatives and expanded support hours to meet user demand.

Currently, John works as the CX Program Lead at Backbone since 2022, where they continue to drive customer experience initiatives.

John Dieter attended Cedar Falls High School from 2000 to 2003. John later pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Public Administration at Truman State University, which they completed in 2010. Currently, they are enrolled in the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where they are studying Graphic Design and is expected to graduate in 2023. It is worth noting that John Dieter has obtained a certification in Preventing Workplace Harassment from Emtrain, although the specific details regarding its completion date are unavailable.
