Ajith Kumar

Ajith Kumar has extensive work experience in various design and merchandising roles within the fashion and accessories industry.

From 2022 onwards, they have served as the Head of Design & Merchandising at Baggit India Private Limited. Ajith also worked as a Design Consultant for American Tourister and Samsonite APAC & Middle East during the same year.

Prior to this, Ajith worked at Hara Sustainable Solutions from 2020 to 2022, where they held the position of Product Strategist and Business Owner. In these roles, they focused on providing sustainable solutions and setting up a new-age agro brand.

From 2015 to 2020, they worked at VKC Group, India, as the Design Head - STRABO of the bag division. Ajith was responsible for the design and operational strategy, as well as the development and communication of design specifications.

Ajith also served as the Head of Accessories at And Designs India from 2014 to 2015, where they focused on commercializing Indian craft and managing inventory.

In their earlier roles, Ajith worked at VIP Industries Ltd as the Category Head of Caprese and Category Manager of Caprese (ladies handbags) from 2012 to 2015. Ajith also worked as a Design Manager at VIP Industries Ltd. in 2011, managing design functions for ALFA.

During their career, Ajith also gained experience at Coach International as a Senior Product Development professional from 2009 to 2010, and at Indian Terrain as a Design Manager from 2007 to 2009.

Ajith Kumar completed their high school education at Kendriya Vidyalaya from 1985 to 1998, where they pursued a 10+2 degree in the field of commerce. Following this, they attended the University of Calicut from 1998 to 2000, obtaining a BA degree in economics. Later, they pursued a diploma in accessory design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology from 2000 to 2003, specializing in the field of accessory designing.
