Laura Paul, P.Eng, MBA, PMP has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Currently, they are the Head of Operations at Baird & Associates, a company specializing in engineering and science in coastal and ocean environments. In the past, Laura has worked as a Change Agent, Connection Catalyst, and Public Speaker at reAura Network, as well as a Director of Operations at Tiree. Laura also has experience as a Sustainability Analyst at Morrison Hershfield, President of the Board of Directors at CaGBC Ottawa Region Chapter, and Sustainable Construction Coordinator at PCL Construction. Laura's expertise and leadership have been recognized through their involvement in industry advocacy, public speaking engagements, and published articles.
Laura Paul, P.Eng, MBA, PMP has a diverse education history. Laura obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa in 2015. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Brunswick in 2008. During their time at the University of New Brunswick, Laura also pursued a Technology Management and Entrepreneurship Diploma from 2006 to 2008.
In addition to their formal education, Laura has obtained several certifications to complement their expertise. Laura completed the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification offered by the Project Management Institute in April 2016. In September 2016, they received the Conscious & Transformational Leadership (360 Leadership Circle Profile) certification from the Transformational Learning Institute. Laura also holds certifications in Executive Leadership from LinkedIn (obtained in October 2019) and the Global Leadership Training Program from CEO Global Network (obtained in 2021).
To enhance their skill set, Laura has pursued certifications in various specialized areas. Laura has completed the Social Media Marketing Certification from Hootsuite Media Inc. in 2015, as well as the Yellow Belt: Lean Six Sigma Certification from Lean Agility Inc., also in 2015. Laura has also received three certifications related to green building practices: LEED AP BD+C (Building Design and Construction) in 2009, LEED AP O+M (Operations and Maintenance) in 2011, and LEED AP ND (Neighbourhood Development) in 2012, all from the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC).
