Daisy Riquelme

Daisy Riquelme, PhD, is currently serving as the Vice President of Life Sciences Venture Bank at Banc of California since December 2023, after holding a similar position at Pacific Western Bank prior to its merger. With extensive experience in life sciences and business development, Riquelme has previously worked at SmartLabs, where roles included Head of Channel Partnerships and Associate Director of Business Development. Earlier professional experience includes a Venture Fellow position at Excelyrate Capital and consulting work at Arthur D. Little, where strategic insights were developed for Fortune 500 clients. Riquelme's academic background includes a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where research focused on cell motility and cancer, supplemented by roles as a mentor and teaching assistant. Educational qualifications also include a BA in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania.
