Maria Cristina Vila de Van Hoorde has extensive work experience in the legal departments of various banking institutions in Panama. Maria Cristina started their career in 1993 as an Associate Lawyer at SUCRE | ARIAS | REYES, focusing on corporate matters in the banking, insurance, and securities sectors. Maria Cristina then joined the Superintendencia de Bancos de Panamá in 1998 as a Lawyer, where they provided assessment and training to banks and handled inquiries related to pension funds, trusts, and general banking matters. In 1999, they became the Manager of the Trust Department at Banco Continental de Panama, later known as Banco General, where they oversaw offshore banking operations. In 2004, they joined Citibank N.A.
