Paul Littlefair

Executive, Technology at Bank of New Zealand

Paul officially joined the Executive team as Executive, Technology in an acting capacity in November 2021, and his permanent appointment was confirmed in March 2022.

Paul started in a contract role in January 2020 and joined the BNZ team permanently 6 months later as Chief Technology Officer with an initial focus on resilience and reliability in legacy technology systems. In October 2020, working with his peers, the technology and digital teams were combined into a single function, and Paul moved in to the GM Technology role in early 2021. During this time Paul has built strong relationships throughout BNZ and the wider NAB Group, providing expert leadership for Tech teams and helping to embed Agile principles as well as the DevOps model, driving better delivery towards simple and easy technology experience for colleagues and customers while provide resilient technology platforms.

Prior to working at BNZ, Paul has held several senior and Executive Technology roles in the financial services industry including at ASB, Kiwibank and Bank of South Pacific. He has a background as a software developer, trainer and engineer and has broad expertise and experience across a wide range of cloud, data, infrastructure and architecture domains. Paul has also won the prestigious NZ ‘CIO of the Year’ in 2019.
