Sophia El Fassi

Sophia EL FASSI currently holds the position of Head of Compliance Europe at Barents Re since September 2023. Prior to this role, Sophia served as Group Head of Internal Audit Europe-KFH at Aioi Nissay Dowa Europe from September 2019 to September 2023, where responsibilities included leading the implementation of a sanctions screening system across multiple European countries. Additional experience includes founding a complaints handling process startup from July 2017 to November 2020, serving as Underwriting Audit Manager Europe at CNA Hardy from October 2018 to September 2019, and working as an Internal Audit Manager for CNP Assurances from January 2010 to December 2017, specializing in the management of audit missions across Europe and Latin America. Sophia's professional journey began with roles as an Internal Auditor intern at Caisse d'Epargne Aquitaine Poitou-Charentes and in marketing and consulting positions at Media Cafe and ACE & Partners, respectively. Sophia holds multiple degrees in finance, audit, and management from prestigious institutions including IAE Bordeaux and Groupe ISCAE.
