Sylvia L. Maldonado

Sylvia L. Maldonado has a diverse range of work experience. Sylvia L. served as the Head of Corporate Communications for the Americas at the Barry Callebaut Group, where they focused on enhancing employee engagement and corporate reputation. Prior to that, they founded and led breathe bar, a movement promoting self-care and mindfulness through meditation. Sylvia also operated their own consultancy firm, SLM Communications, where they advised clients on growth strategies and corporate branding. Sylvia L. served as a Municipal Development Advisor for the U.S. Peace Corps and worked as a Senior Communications Director for the American Heart Association. Sylvia has also worked in the television industry, serving as a producer for Bunim Murray Productions and working as a documentary writer/producer at Towers Productions. Sylvia L. began their career as a production assistant at Harpo Productions, working on The Oprah Winfrey Show and Oprah's Angel Network.

Sylvia L. Maldonado has a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies and Business Administration from Boston University. Sylvia L. also holds a DELE certification in Spanish proficiency from Centro de Lenguas y Intercambio Cultural. Additionally, Sylvia pursued a graduate program in Counseling Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University. In 2021, they obtained a certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education.
