Marshall Bessières

Marshall Bessières has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Marshall started their career as an Applied Instructor of Composition at Santa Clara University and also worked as a Faculty member at The Walden School. During this time, they concurrently co-founded CrownSix, where they developed mobile apps and provided freelance development services for music communities.

Marshall's career then shifted towards product management and customer success roles. Marshall worked as a Senior Product Manager at Omniture (now Adobe) and later served as the Vice President of Professional Services at Gigya. In these positions, they led research and development efforts, collaborated with product management teams, and productized offerings for revenue growth.

After leaving Gigya, Marshall took a creative sabbatical to pursue their passion for photography and worked as a photographer, gaining experience in travel excursions, weddings, and events. Marshall also developed a platform for helping private music teachers manage their studios.

Marshall then transitioned to the role of Vice President of Customer Success Engineering at Capriza, where they oversaw technical delivery, drove usability and priority setting for product features, and synthesized customer insights and market research.

Before joining Basis Technologies as the Director of Product Management, Marshall was the Head of Product at QuanticMind. In this role, they oversaw product strategy and execution, launched a new product, balanced customer demand with innovation, and utilized their expertise in large data sets to guide product direction.

Marshall Bessières completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Composition and Piano Performance at Santa Clara University from 2001 to 2003. Marshall then pursued a Master's degree in Composition at The University of Texas at Austin from 2011 to 2013, although they did not complete the program. Prior to that, they worked towards a degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics at the University of Colorado at Boulder from 1999 to 2001.
