Jane MacLennan

Jane Maclennan has over 20 years of work experience in various roles within the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. Jane started their career at Boots UK as a Pre-registration Pharmacy Graduate and worked their way up to becoming a Pharmacy Manager, where they were responsible for managing a pharmacy department and overseeing the supply of medicines to residential care and nursing homes. Jane also served as a Pharmacist and Consultant Pharmacist during their time at Boots UK.

In 2001, Jane joined Bavarian Nordic as a Commercial Manager and later transitioned into roles in clinical development. Jane worked as a Clinical Trial Coordinator, Clinical Project Leader, and Senior Clinical Project Leader, gaining experience in project management and clinical research.

Jane's most recent position at Bavarian Nordic was as a Clinical Program Lead, where they led a team in developing a smallpox/monkeypox vaccine that received FDA licensure. Jane was responsible for collaborating with external stakeholders, developing clinical study protocols, and contributing to regulatory submissions and advisory meetings.

In March 2021, Jane took on the role of Sr Manager, Development & HCP/HCO Financial Compliance at Bavarian Nordic. In this position, they implemented and managed the company's global financial transparency and disclosure program, ensuring compliance with regulations. Jane also supported the corporate Business Ethics Compliance Committee and delivered its directives within the Development organization.

Prior to their role at Bavarian Nordic, Jane worked briefly at Compaq Computer Corporation in an Events Management position.

Continuing their education, Jane earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Pharmacy from the University of Sunderland between 1990 and 1993.

Moving forward, they pursued additional certifications and training. In 2000, Jane obtained another Certified Member (CM) certification, this time from the Bayerische Landesapothekerkammer. Throughout their career, they went on to obtain several certifications related to clinical research and drug development. Notably, between 2009 and 2012, they completed certifications such as "Selecting & Managing CROs," "Preparation of FDA Submissions & Communicating with the FDA," and "Project Management for the Phase 3 & Life Cycle Management of the Drug Development Process." Jane also received a certification in "Good Clinical Practices" from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals in 2006.

Furthermore, Jane attended the Seton Hall University School of Law in 2022, where they completed the European Healthcare Compliance Certificate Program.

Lastly, they obtained a Certificate B1 in German Language from the Goethe-Institut in 2018.
