Mykhailo Shutkov

Mykhailo Shutkov has a diverse range of work experience in the field of data architecture and engineering. Mykhailo started their career as a System Engineer at Telecom-Pneumatic, where they gained experience in computer network maintenance and technical support. After that, they worked as a Senior Engineer at Sitronics Telecom Solutions, specializing in the implementation and customization of billing systems for telecommunications companies.

In 2012, Mykhailo joined Luxoft as a Technical Team Lead, where they were responsible for enriching the Liquidity Data Mart platform and supporting the development team. Mykhailo also implemented data marts, performed performance tuning, and participated in proof-of-concept pilot efforts.

From 2013 to 2017, Mykhailo worked at Wargaming (Game Stream JLLC and Persha Studia Development LLC) as a Lead Software Engineer. During this time, they played a key role in developing and maintaining a multi-terabyte Data Warehouse (DWH) platform on the Oracle Big Data Appliance platform. Mykhailo led the coordination and task load balancing for the project team and was responsible for designing star schemas, mapping layers, and ETL processes.

Following that, Mykhailo became a Data Architect at Wargaming America in 2017, where they continued their work on developing the DWH platform. Mykhailo gradually developed the platform in accordance with ongoing business requirements, integrating thousands of source systems using bespoke and unified integration frameworks. Mykhailo also led technical expertise, defined development standards, and designed and developed data lakes and star schemas.

Most recently, Mykhailo joined Bazaarvoice in 2022 as a Data Architect and Principal Data Engineer. In this role, they are responsible for designing and developing data solutions, particularly focusing on data architecture and engineering.

Mykhailo Shutkov obtained a Master of Science Degree in Computer Engineering with a specialization in Information Design Technology and Computer Systems Engineering from the National Technical University of Ukraine 'Kyiv Polytechnic Institute' in 2009. In addition, they have earned several certifications including Architecting on AWS from Amazon in November 2022, Data Virtualization Champion from Denodo in April 2019, Data Virtualization Developer (Advanced) from Denodo in April 2019, and Data Virtualization Architect from Denodo in March 2019.
