Douglas Last has had a long career in business development, sales and management. Douglas began their career in 1994 as National Sales Manager - Advanced Technologies at QIAGEN. In this role, they launched the sales effort for the gene silencing portfolio and managed a team of five, growing revenues from $0 to $6 million. In 2008, they became Senior Director of Sales at Quanta Biosciences, aggressively growing and sustaining sales of a new life science brand among well-established, market leaders for qPCR, qRT-PCR and Reverse Transcription applications. In 2011, they were VP of Business Development at Gorilla Toolz, where they created a go-to market strategy for a disruptive technology to increase efficiency and clarity of email-based communication. In 2012, they became VP of Business Development at Genusmail, where they identified thought leaders addressing the issues of information overload, email overload and email bankruptcy and generated revenue projections going out 3 years. In 2013, they became Senior Technical Sales Specialist - Genetic Analysis at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Finally, in 2015, they became Director, Integrated Technologies at BC Platforms, a world leader in providing powerful genomic data management solutions to address healthcare challenges.

Douglas Last attended Hamilton College from 1984 to 1988, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology.
