Jennifer Barbosa

Jennifer Barbosa has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jennifer started their career as a Family Justice Counsellor at the BC Public Service, Ministry of Attorney General, where they worked from June 1997 to July 2006. Following this, they transitioned into a Regional Business Manager role within the same organization, where they worked for a year from July 2006 to July 2007. In July 2007, Jennifer joined BCLC as a Manager, Contract Management and held this position for seven years until August 2014. Jennifer then moved on to become a Manager, Strategic Sourcing within the same company, working from August 2014 to May 2015. Jennifer's next role at BCLC was as a Senior Manager, Risk Advisory Services, which they held from May 2015 to April 2019. Jennifer then took on the position of Director, Enterprise Risk Management Services at BCLC in April 2019. In February 2022, Jennifer briefly served as an Interim Director, Audit Services at BCLC for four months. Jennifer currently holds the position of Accountable Director, Enterprise Risk Management Services at BCLC.

Jennifer Barbosa holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Thompson Rivers University. Jennifer has also received the Certified Risk Management Professional (RIMS-CRMP) designation from the Risk and Insurance Management Society. Jennifer has obtained the Canadian Risk Management Certification from the University of Toronto and the Canadian Risk Management Designation (CRM) from the Global Risk Management Institute (GRMI), specializing in insurance and risk management. Additionally, they have achieved the CMIRM designation from the Institute of Risk Management and the CAMS Certification from the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists. Jennifer obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from Thompson Rivers University as well. Currently, they are pursuing the Accredited Director designation in the Director's Education and Accreditation Program offered by The Chartered Governance Institute of Canada, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
