Sr. Principal Scientist, Bioinformatics at Be Bio

Sharvari Gujja has over 13 years of work experience in the field of bioinformatics. Sharvari began their career in 2007 as a Bioinformatics Analyst I at the Broad Institute, where they performed Prokaryotic Genome Annotation and evaluated the Conserved Domain Database (CDD) to integrate into the pipeline for Gene Calling. Sharvari then moved on to become a Bioinformatics Analyst II at the Broad Institute in 2009, where they were responsible for Genome Annotation of Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic genomes, modelling, prototyping, and automating annotation pipelines. In 2014, they joined Sanofi as a Biostatistician/R&D Information Services Bioinformatics Programmer, where they developed and maintained automated analysis and quality control pipelines for a variety of NGS applications. In 2015, they began working as a Bioinformatician III at UMass Medical School, where they analyzed and developed custom workflows for RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, ExomeSeq, smallRNASeq, Proteomics, Microarray, and HiC data analysis. In 2016, they joined WuXi NextCODE as an Assistant Director, AI lab and Bioinformatician. In 2020, they moved on to become the Director - Bioinformatics, AI lab at Genuity Science. Most recently, in 2021, they began working as a Senior Principal Scientist, Bioinformatics at Applied BioMath, and in 2022, they joined Be Biopharma as a Sr. Principal Scientist, Bioinformatics.

Sharvari Gujja has a Master's degree in BioInformatics from The University of Texas at Dallas (2005-2007) and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from M.V.S.R. Engineering College, India (2000-2004). Sharvari also holds four certifications from LinkedIn and Coursera Verified Certificates, obtained between 2014 and 2020, in Artificial Intelligence Foundations: Machine Learning, Getting and Cleaning Data, R Programming, and The Data Scientist’s Toolbox.
