Kimberly McManus, PhD

Dr. Kimberly McManus has a diverse work experience. Kimberly began their career in 2011 as a PhD Candidate at Stanford University. In 2016, they moved to LinkedIn as a Software Engineer - Machine Learning / Data Mining. In 2017, they joined 23andMe as a Scientist, Manager, and R&D team lead. In 2020, they became a Presidential Innovation Fellow at the White House. Most recently, in 2022, they co-founded Be Golden as the CTO (YC S22).

Kimberly McManus, PhD, completed their Bachelor's degree in Biology and Earth, Atmospheric, & Planetary Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Kimberly then pursued a Master's degree in Biomedical Informatics at Stanford University School of Medicine, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Population Genetics at Stanford University. Kimberly also completed a Junior Year Study Abroad, Cambridge-MIT Exchange (CME) in Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge. Additionally, Kimberly has obtained four certifications from Coursera, including Natural Language Processing with Attention Models and Natural Language Processing with Sequence Models in 2021, SQL for Data Science in 2020, and Neural Networks and Deep Learning in 2019.
