Alex C. Minella

Vice President, Clinical Development, Hematology & Oncology at Beam

Alex C. Minella, M.D. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of hematology/oncology. From 2001 to 2007, they served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Following this, they joined the University of Washington - School of Medicine as an Instructor and Attending Physician from 2004 to 2007. Alex C. then worked at Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine, first as an Assistant Professor of Medicine from 2007 to 2014, and later as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine from 2014 to 2019. During this time, they also worked as an Associate Investigator at Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin from 2014 to 2017, and as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin from 2014 to 2017. Most recently, since 2017, they have been a Medical Director of Translational Medicine at Amgen, specializing in early development for hematology/oncology. In 2020, they transitioned to become the Vice President of Clinical Development in Hematology & Oncology at Beam Therapeutics.

Alex C. Minella, M.D. attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University. Alex C. also pursued an Oncology fellowship and an Internal Medicine Residency Program at the University of Washington - School of Medicine. In addition to their education, they hold certifications in Medical Oncology from the American Board of Internal Medicine and as a Physician and Surgeon (Allopathic - M.D.) from the State of California.
