Alifiyah Ganijee

Alifiyah Ganijee has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Alifiyah started their career in 2011 as a Web Software Developer at Techbiz Ltd, where they developed web projects and configured communication solutions. Alifiyah then worked as a Web Developer at Jafftek Computer Solutions, where they gained experience in wireframe design, website development, and email marketing.

In 2012, Alifiyah joined organizations like Mozilla and Google Developers, taking on roles such as Community Coordinator, Community Manager, and Regional Coordinator. During this time, they focused on promoting open source projects, advancing women's visibility and involvement in technology, and organizing events and programs for developers.

Alifiyah also played a significant role in founding and leading the Mombasa Tech Community, an organization that inspired and supported technology innovation through networking and mentoring. Alifiyah collaborated with various organizations, including Google and Mozilla, and was recognized for their contributions towards diversity and inclusion.

In 2014, Alifiyah transitioned to the education sector, working as an Information Technology Lecturer at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. In 2016, Alifiyah joined Beem, initially as a Research Intern and later as Head of Operations. Alifiyah contributed to multiple projects, including conducting research, developing a mobile survey platform, and integrating SMS notification platforms into banking systems. In 2023, they took on a new role as Head of Carrier Relations & Global Partnerships at Beem.

Alifiyah Ganijee earned a Master's degree in Computer Science from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, where they studied from 2014 to 2016. Prior to their postgraduate studies, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Business Information Technology at the same university from 2010 to 2013. Earlier in their academic journey, they attended Aga Khan High School in Mombasa from 2006 to 2009, where they obtained a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.
