John Valentine

Vice President, Finance at Benu Networks

John Valentine has over 30 years of experience in finance, beginning with a role as a Senior Financial Analyst at Banyan Systems in 1989. John then moved to Summa Four (Cisco Systems) as Assistant Controller in 1994, followed by a role as Finance Manager at IBM (Lotus Development) in 1997. In 2000, they became Finance Manager at Enovia Matrixone (Dassault Systemes), and then Financial Consultant at Riverridge Consulting Inc. in 2005. In the same year, they joined Sycamore Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: SCMR) as Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, and later as Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis. In 2013, they became Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance at Coriant America Inc. (formerly Sycamore Networks)/Coriant). In 2016, they became Chief Financial Officer at SavingStar, Inc., and in 2019, they joined Benu Networks as Vice President of Finance. In this role, they lead finance and HR roles encompassing staff on-boarding, payroll, benefits, general accounting, financial statement preparation, tax compliance, investor relations, FP&A, and M&A.

John Valentine received their B.S. in Business Management from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 1986. John then went on to obtain a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Assumption University in 1992. John also received a Certificate in Accountancy from Assumption University in 1994. Prior to that, they attended South High Community School from 1978 to 1982. In 2009, they obtained a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) from the IMA | Institute of Management Accountants.
