José Pedro Nunes

José Pedro Nunes has a strong background in engineering and technology leadership. José Pedro is currently the Head of Engineering at BeReal., a position they have held since February 2023. During their tenure, the engineering team expanded significantly and implemented software and product development processes in a fast-paced and agile environment.

Before their time at Reachdesk, Nunes worked at Talkdesk as a Director of Engineering from April 2019 to October 2020. In this role, they led a team of over 100 employees, ensuring the delivery, hiring, retention, and quality of work in the Contact Center as a Services area. José Pedro played a crucial role in ensuring the product's delivery in a competitive market and maintaining high software development standards.

Prior to Talkdesk, Nunes held several positions at Sky Technology Centre - Portugal. José Pedro served as Head of Technology from March 2018 to April 2019, overseeing the delivery of the Sky Store Product technology and managing a large team of Engineering Managers, Developers, QA engineers, and SREs. José Pedro was also involved in defining growth strategies and policies for the Lisbon Development Center.

Nunes also held roles as Senior Engineering Manager, Engineering Manager, and Senior Software Engineer at Sky Technology Centre - Portugal, where they focused on software engineering practices, CI/CD, testing, and design patterns.

Earlier in their career, Nunes worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Novabase, where they were responsible for analysis and development in the .NET and Business Intelligence areas. José Pedro also held positions at Twingle, Lda., ComputerCenter, and Cleverness, where they gained experience in software development using various technologies.

José Pedro Nunes completed their Bachelor's degree in Informatics Engineering, specializing in Computer Science, from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. José Pedro pursued further education and obtained a Master's degree in Management of Information Systems and Technologies from the same university. In addition to their formal education, José Pedro Nunes also holds a certification as a Certified Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance, which they obtained in December 2013.
