DC Scarpelli is an accomplished creative professional with extensive experience in design and education. Currently serving as Creative Director at Berkeley Repertory Theatre since September 2022, and as Type Designer/Typefounder at The Ampersand Forest since January 2018, Scarpelli specializes in creating and publishing diverse typefaces. With a rich background as Visual Designer and Brand Identity Designer at DCScarpelli.com since 2000, Scarpelli has developed brand identity systems for various nonprofit and arts organizations. A long tenure at Academy of Art University from 2006 to 2022 included roles as Associate Director for the School of Interaction & UI/UX Design, where Scarpelli notably co-founded the DEI Committee and enhanced curriculum effectiveness. Previous positions include Resident Graphic Designer for 42nd Street Moon, Senior Designer & Web Lead at Diablo Custom Publishing, and contributions to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Academy of Art University.
