Michael Cabrea

Michael Cabrea has extensive experience in safety and risk management. Michael is currently working as the Vice President, Safety and Risk at Bernards since May 2022. Prior to this, they worked at KHS&S Contractors as the Director, Safety and Risk Control from March 2016 to May 2022. Michael also served as the Director of Environmental Health & Safety (Global) at American Apparel Global from November 2015 to February 2016. Before that, Michael worked at Morley Builders as the Risk Control Manager from December 2003 to November 2015, where they were responsible for various aspects of risk identification, policy development, and budget management. Michael started their career at UPS in May 1996 as a Safety/Supervisor and worked there until December 2003.

Michael Cabrea earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from California State University, Los Angeles, where they studied from 2001 to 2003. In addition to their degree, Michael has obtained several certifications in their field. Michael earned the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) certification from the American Institute For Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters in November 2020. In December 2017, they obtained the SAFETY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST® (SMS®) certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Lastly, in September 2015, they obtained the Certified Claims Professional (CCP) - Workers' Compensation certification from the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance.
