Kate Royle has a diverse work experience in the field of synthetic biology and scientific research. Starting in 2014, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Imperial College London, where they focused on developing in vitro tools to combat glycan heterogeneity in biotherapeutics. Kate'sresponsibilities included cloning, expression, purification, and characterization of various components related to glycosylation.

In 2017, Kate joined Abcam as a Senior Scientist in R&D, Technology Development. In this role, they contributed to the company's research and innovation efforts. Kate later became a Principal Scientist, specializing in the same field. Kate'stenure at Abcam lasted until 2021.

Currently, Kate Royle is the Head of Synthetic Biology at Better Dairy, a position they started in December 2021.

Kate Royle has a strong educational background in the field of biotechnology. Kate completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biotechnology from Imperial College London, graduating from 2009 to 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biological and Bioprocess Engineering from The University of Sheffield, attending from 2008 to 2009. Kate'sundergraduate studies include a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biology, General from Imperial College London, which they pursued from 2005 to 2008.

In addition to their academic accomplishments, Kate Royle has also earned a certification as an HEA Fellow from the Higher Education Authority in March 2017.
