Simon Lai has over 20 years of work experience in various roles within the technology industry. Simon is currently serving as the Director of Delivery for APAC at Beyond Limits, a position they have held since August 2020. Prior to this, Simon worked at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) as a Vice President from December 2017 to August 2020.
Before joining HKEX, Simon worked at EPAM Systems as a Software Engineer Manager, Delivery Manager, and ODC Manager from June 2014 to October 2017. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing three offshore development centers with over 200 developers in Shenzhen, ensuring compliance with IT security and industry standards.
Simon also served as the Director of Strategy & Operation at Jointech Software (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. from November 2007 to May 2014. In this role, they managed a team of around 100 members for global projects in enterprise architecture, capital market prime service, and QA areas for investment banking business.
Prior to that, Simon worked as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Sweetmart Marketing Inc from October 2006 to October 2007, where they led a 50+ tech/operation team and successfully developed the company's Behavior Based Target Marketing System.
Simon's earlier work experience includes roles such as Senior Manager at NEC Solutions from October 2004 to September 2006, Senior Project Manager at Freeborders from September 2003 to October 2004, and Senior Developer at KING Products and Solutions Inc. from 1997 to 2003.
Simon also has experience as a Tech Lead at Enfashion, where they raised funding and established a 3D web clothing trying service company.
Throughout their career, Simon has demonstrated strong leadership and project management skills, successfully delivering projects and building teams to achieve client satisfaction.
Simon Lai completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Science and Technology of China, where they studied from 1983 to 1990. Simon then pursued higher education at the University of Toronto, earning a Master of Science degree in Computer Vision from 1991 to 1993.
