Olivia Cavlan

Olivia Cavlan is the Head of Business and Operations at Alchemab. Olivia is a biotechnology executive with 15 years’ experience supporting international pharmaceutical, biotech and med tech companies across strategic, business and operational activities. She is a former academic clinician with experience in pediatric medicine and so understands the challenges and opportunities of clinical science and how it enables the NHS. Olivia leads Business and Operations at Alchemab, an advanced-analytics enabled therapeutics company which she helped to build having been a Principal at SV Health Investors. Prior to that, she was a Partner at McKinsey where she led healthcare private equity and global R&D restructuring efforts, and a Partner at QuantumBlack, focused on advanced-analytics projects for pharmacos.

Olivia has a broad, grass roots scientific and business network through her academic and VC background, work at Alchemab and as an advisor to CRUK. She is passionate about UK science, translational medicine and company creation. She regularly advises young entrepreneurs and start-ups, strongly believing that the next generation of transformative medicines will come from talented teams bringing traditional and novel technologies together.
