Binnie has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Proposal Coordinator to further solidify our high-performing Proposal Team. This full-time, permanent position requires an adaptable worker with potential for future growth. Reporting to our Proposal Manager, you will support our team of Project Managers and play an integral role in producing high quality proposals. This role will be able to manage large, complex, and/or strategically important proposals.

You will support our business development efforts by producing high quality proposals. You will work closely with our subject matter experts—Project Managers, Engineers, Surveyors, and Landscape Architects—to write about our services and skills in a compelling way.

YOUR ROLE:

  • Implementing our proposal strategy/process and suggesting improvements based on experience in similar roles in the consulting industry

  • Spearheading kick-off meetings to discuss proposal strategy, content development, and internal deadlines

  • Developing and monitoring our proposal preparation schedule and deadlines

  • Assembling and customizing project team resumes, project highlight sheets, and boilerplate to suit RFPs

  • Proofreading/editing content and providing advice/suggestions for improvement

  • Reviewing the RFP and ensuring the proposal response is compliant

  • Using existing knowledge of industry clients to provide strategic advice and guidance to Binnie and the Proposal Team

  • Supporting the Proposal Manager as needed for various senior-level tasks and annual Key Initiatives

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading/preparing standard and complex proposals as well as writing/editing/strategizing/developing proposal content

  • Experience in the BC consulting industry is mandatory

  • Completed Diploma or Degree in Arts/Communications/Commerce/Business Administration or other writing focused preferred

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Basic skills in Microsoft Project

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

  • Strong proposal, business, and technical writing skills; able to write original text and customize existing text to suit assignments

  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple competing demands and meet deadlines consistently

  • Strong grasp of graphic design and/or formatting and document layout (organizing page layout and applying consistent document styles such as font, headings, etc.)

  • Ability to proofread technical writing from others and edit for grammar, spelling, clarity, and overall writing quality, and in compliance with Request for Proposal (RFP) documents

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively and professionally, verbally and in writing, to all staff levels

  • Ability to work cooperatively and productively with colleagues in a team environment and to effectively advise the team when required
