Yao Liu

Yao Liu is a skilled scientist with extensive experience in drug discovery and immunology. Currently employed at BioAegis Therapeutics, Inc. as a Scientist, Yao has previously held the position of Scientist II at PTC Therapeutics, Inc., focusing on small molecule drug discovery for inflammatory diseases, including target identification, reporter assay optimization, and drug mechanism studies. Prior to this, Yao served as a Postdoctoral Associate at Weill Cornell Medicine, where development of a safer Bacille Calmette–Guérin (BCG) vaccine for immunocompromised individuals was achieved. Yao's academic foundation includes a PhD in Microbiology from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from Central South University, with significant research on bacterial pathogenicity during graduate studies.
