Safina A.

Safina A. has a long and varied work experience. Safina began their career in 2004 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at CAMH. Safina then worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant and Research Assistant at The Hospital for Sick Children from 2006-2008. During this time, they were also a Ph.D candidate at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, researching incretin hormones and their role in metabolic and cardiovascular disease. In 2013, Safina A. became a Scientific Consultant at the University of Toronto. Safina then worked as a Scientist at AstraZeneca from 2014-2016. During this time, they were also a Medical Science Liaison and Medical Writer at Anantlife Canada Inc. From 2016-2018, Safina A. was an Associate Scientific Director at CC FORD (NEUCO). Safina then worked as a Scientific Director at Haymarket Media US from 2019-2020. Currently, Safina A. is a Medical Director at BioCentric, Inc.

Safina A. obtained a B.Sc. (Honors) in Genes, Genetics and Biotechnology from the University of Toronto in 2007, with a field of study in Human Biology. Safina then went on to pursue a PhD in Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology from the same university, graduating in 2013 with a focus on Diabetes and Cardiovascular Complications. In 2019, they obtained two additional certifications from LinkedIn, one in Create A Brand Strategy and the other in Learning Data Science: Tell Stories With Data.
