Siri Konanoor

Vice-president Of Events, LIFT Co-lead at BioInnovation Group at UC Davis

Siri Konanoor is a Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering student at the University of California, Davis, expected to graduate in June 2025. Currently, Siri serves as the Algae to Insulin Team Lead and Genetics Sub-Team Lead at BioInnovation Group, where responsibilities include designing genetic constructs for transformation into E. coli and Chlamydomonas reinhardtii to produce recombinant insulin. Additionally, Siri co-leads a Journal Club, promoting scientific literacy through research paper presentations, and works as an Undergraduate Student Researcher focusing on molecular crowding dynamics during C. elegans meiosis. Previous research experiences include analyzing transcriptional regulation of the lac operon in E. coli at Pioneer Academics and conducting stochastic simulations for vaccine effectiveness during an independent research trainee position at Polygence. Education was completed at Monta Vista High School with a 3.9 GPA before pursuing higher studies at UC Davis.
