Jean M. Lewis

Director, Research at Biological Dynamics

Jean M. Lewis has had extensive work experience in the field of research and scientific development. Jean M. is currently serving as the Director of Research at Biological Dynamics since April 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Associate Director of Research Proteomics from September 2021 to April 2022. From August 2019 to September 2021, Jean worked as a Senior Scientist II at Biological Dynamics. Jean M.'sresponsibilities in this role included driving the development of cancer biomarker assay on a novel electrokinetic isolation platform and leading proof-of-concept and feasibility studies for a new technology platform for tuberculosis infection testing. Jean M. also formed collaborations with academic partners and designed assays for early cancer detection using blood-borne exosomes. Jean played a key role in obtaining an award from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for the development of a tuberculosis test.

Before joining Biological Dynamics, Jean worked at UCSD as a Project Scientist from April 2016 to June 2018 and as a Staff Research Associate from October 2015 to March 2016. Prior to UCSD, they were an Assistant Member/Research Fellow at The Scripps Research Institute from 1993 to 2002.

Jean M. Lewis holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology from Bryn Mawr College. After completing their PhD, they pursued post-doctoral training at The Scripps Research Institute.
