Tamela Smith

Tamela (Gilbert) Smith has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Tamela has held various HR roles in companies such as bioMérieux, Bell and Howell, Harnett Health, NCDOT, Target, Virginia Tech, and Y Zone Child Day Care. Tamela'smost recent position was as Vice President, Global Employee Engagement at bioMérieux, where they led an international team focused on creating a culture of belonging and adapting to change. Prior to that, they served as Senior Manager, Talent & Inclusion in the Americas Region. Tamela has also worked as a Regional HR Manager, Commercial Operations - North & South America, and as an HR Manager, Commercial Operations - North America. In previous roles, Tamela has been responsible for talent acquisition, internal talent management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, organizational design and development, and performance management. Tamela has experience working in a highly matrixed environment and has demonstrated the ability to partner with global leadership and management teams. Tamela's earlier experience includes roles in HR consulting, recruitment, and program management.
