Madison Tuffield

Madison Tuffield started their work experience as a Summer Intern at Sullivan Goulette & Wilson, Ltd. in 2017. During this time, they organized and assisted in converting completed projects to an online system and reviewed project financial spreadsheets for accuracy.

In 2018, Madison took on the role of a Summer Research Assistant at Northwestern University, working in Dr. Erik Andersen's lab. They performed various tasks in the lab, such as pouring and seeding agar plates with Escherichia coli and conducting PCR on lab strains and wild isolates of Caenorhabditis elegans.

Also in 2018, Madison worked as a Teaching Assistant at Macalester College. They provided assistance to students in Dr. Kristi Curry-Rogers' Biodiversity and Evolution lab, evaluated lab reports and other course materials, and supported students during lab time.

In 2019, Madison was an Undergraduate Researcher at Macalester College, specifically researching New Zealand mite harvestmen (Cyphophthalmi) in Dr. Sarah Boyer's research lab. Their responsibilities included generating, cleaning, and analyzing Sanger Sequencing and Next Generation Sequencing data.

Currently, Madison is employed at BiomeSense as a Research Associate, and as of 2023, they hold the position of Senior Research Associate. Additional details about their current role were not provided.

Madison Tuffield completed their Bachelor's degree in Biology from Macalester College between 2016 and 2020. In July 2020, they obtained a certification in COVID-19 Contact Tracing from The Johns Hopkins University.
