Kailani Montane

Project Director at Biorep Technologies

Kailani Montane has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Kailani began their career as a Test Engineering Intern at HeartWare Inc, where they conducted tests and performed verification and validation of R&D test setups. Kailani then worked as a Design Engineer at the Tissue Optical Spectroscopy Laboratory, collaborating with a team to develop a colposcope medical device and assisting in the development of an algorithm for the device. Kailani also worked on the design of the outer casing and conducted testing to meet medical device standards.

After that, Kailani joined BioRep Technologies, Inc. as a Manufacturing Engineer, where they worked on Class 1 devices used in heart surgeries. Kailani also served as a Quality Engineer, leading a team through the design and development process for vascular clamps and developing validation procedures. Kailani initiated investigations, documented non-conformances, and implemented corrective/preventative actions. Kailani later became the New Product Development Director and then the Project Director at BioRep Technologies, Inc.

Kailani also worked at ICU Medical as a Continuous Improvement Specialist/Project Manager, where they utilized their skills to drive improvement projects.

Overall, Kailani has demonstrated a strong ability to work on multiple projects, lead teams, and ensure regulatory compliance in the medical device industry.

Kailani Montane attended Miami Lakes Educational Center from 2009 to 2013, where they pursued an Engineering Strand as part of the Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) Diploma. Kailani then furthered their education at Duke University from 2013 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering, with a specialization in Medical Devices. In addition, Kailani obtained a SolidWorks Certified Associate certification from Dassault Systèmes in September 2011.
