Maryam Poorafshar

Maryam Poorafshar has extensive work experience in the scientific and research industry. Maryam is currently the Executive Vice President of R&D at Biotage, starting in 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Thermofisher Scientific, holding multiple roles. From 2016 to 2022, they were the Director of Product Innovation, R&D, where they managed the innovation pipeline, strategic planning, and business development. Before that, from 2014 to 2016, they served as a Senior Scientific Advisor, focusing on clinical trials, KOL management, and scientific marketing communication. Maryam also worked at Thermofisher Scientific in various positions, including Head of Product Development at Biomarkers CDD from 2013 to 2014 and Head of PoC Development at Biomarkers from 2011 to 2012. Maryam started their career at Phadia AB as the Clinical Communication Manager, Allergy, R&D, from 2008 to 2010.

Maryam Poorafshar earned a PhD in Molecular Immunology from Uppsala University, where they also obtained a Master's degree in Pharmacy. Maryam later completed an Executive MBA from M-gruppen in collaboration with Ashridge Executive Education.
