Vice President Of Event Marketing at Biotechnology Innovation Organization

Barbara Goldstein, CEM, MBA has an extensive work experience in event marketing and customer experience. Barbara is currently a Senior Director in Event Marketing & Customer Experience at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization. Prior to their current role, they served as the Senior Director of Marketing at AVIXA, where they led the marketing team for InfoComm, the largest trade show for commercial AV in the United States. During their tenure, they successfully grew attendance by 30%, refreshed the InfoComm brand, and implemented digital tools to increase attendance while reducing acquisition cost. Before AVIXA, Barbara worked as the Marketing Director for the Government Information Group at 1105 Media, overseeing the attendee acquisition for federal government IT events. Barbara closely monitored and analyzed marketing efforts to ensure lead generation goals were met. Barbara also held the position of Marketing Manager at Nielsen Business Media, where they focused on attendee acquisition and exhibitor marketing for various trade shows. Lastly, Barbara served as the Circulation Director at PostNewsweek Tech Media, where they managed controlled circulation for two government technology B2B trade publications. Barbara was responsible for creating and managing extensive marketing campaigns for subscriber acquisition and renewal.

Barbara Goldstein, CEM, MBA, pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Penn State University. Barbara later attended the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business, where they obtained an Executive MBA. Barbara also holds various certifications, including Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM) from the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) in 2016 and Digital Event Strategist from PCMA in 2021. Barbara has also completed courses on developing a competitive strategy and global strategy through LinkedIn and brand management through Coursera.
