Daniel Tinnelly's work experience includes:

- Assistant Engineer at John Sisk & Son Ltd from May 2002 to September 2002.

- Project Engineer at Michael Punch & Partners (now Punch Consulting) from June 2004 to October 2009. Daniel primarily worked on healthcare projects and later expanded their portfolio to include large retail stores, housing developments, and educational projects.

- Structural Engineer at Ausenco Sandwell from October 2009 to June 2011. Daniel worked on various projects in the Vancouver area, including a timber dock repair and facility redevelopment at Vancouver Shipyards. Daniel also worked on projects such as the Coal Export Marine Terminal in Columbia and a Floating Power Plant in the Dominican Republic.

- Ports and Marine Engineer/Project Manager at Hatch from August 2011 to June 2013.

- Director at CelticFest Vancouver Society from April 2012 to June 2015.

- Project Coordinator and later Project Manager at Bird Construction. Daniel joined the company in July 2013 and was initially placed on site at the University of British Columbia's new Student's Union Building. Daniel then worked on the renovation of the old Students Union Building at UBC, which started as a $20m project and later had additional scopes added. In August 2017, they became a Project Manager for Bird Construction.

Daniel Tinnelly attended Technological University Dublin from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a degree in Structural Engineering. After completing their studies, Daniel obtained a certification as a Chartered Engineer from Engineers Ireland in June 2008. Daniel later obtained another certification as a Professional Engineer from APEGBC in June 2014.
